This sign was removed during the 1950 renovation. It was green with white letters.

Here is one set of the small posters for the movie "North of 36" that was displayed outside between the doors.
There was one of these shields on either side of the theater. They contain a large "M" and "T" superimposed upon each other. It is hoped that these shields still exist under the stucco and that they will be in good condition if the stucco is removed. This marquee was modified sometime after 1925. It is not the same as the one removed in 1950. It looks like there were two colors of alternating light bulbs underneath and two colors of ornaments on top. There are glass panels in between.
There were three of these windows in the projection booth.  They were mostly filled in except for a small section of the center window that is still visible today. The Mounds Theatre was reopening with the silent black and white cowboy movie, "North of 36". It starred Noah  Berry.
Finkelstein and Ruben owned or managed a number of theaters in the Twin Cities and at least one in North Dakota.  The other sign had Finkelstein spelled wrong (Finklestein instead of Finkelstein).
